Join the Editorial Board

Innovation Transport Technologies and Urban Modelling invites qualified researchers, academics, and professionals to apply as Editorial Board Members or Reviewers.

We welcome experts working in the following areas:

  • intelligent transport systems;
  • transport planning and modelling;
  • urban mobility and public transport;
  • road safety;
  • logistics and supply chain management;
  • automotive engineering and vehicle technologies;
  • transport infrastructure;
  • artificial intelligence, IoT, and digital technologies in transport;
  • sustainable transport and smart cities.

Available roles

Editorial Board Member

Editorial Board Members contribute to the scientific development and international visibility of the journal. Their responsibilities may include:

  • advising the Editor-in-Chief on the journal’s editorial strategy;
  • supporting the development of the journal’s thematic areas;
  • recommending qualified authors and reviewers;
  • reviewing manuscripts within their field of expertise;
  • promoting the journal in relevant academic and professional communities;
  • proposing special issues and thematic collections;
  • supporting publication ethics and editorial quality.

Reviewer

Reviewers provide independent expert assessments of submitted manuscripts. Their responsibilities include:

  • evaluating the scientific quality, originality, relevance, and methodological validity of manuscripts;
  • providing constructive and evidence-based recommendations to authors;
  • identifying potential ethical concerns, conflicts of interest, or inappropriate use of sources;
  • maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts and review materials;
  • completing reviews within the agreed deadline;
  • following the journal’s peer-review and publication ethics policies.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants should normally have:

  • a PhD, Candidate of Sciences degree, or equivalent qualification;
  • research expertise relevant to the journal’s scope;
  • recent peer-reviewed publications;
  • an ORCID identifier;
  • proficiency in academic English;
  • a commitment to publication ethics and confidentiality.

Applicants for Editorial Board membership should preferably have previous editorial, reviewing, or international research experience.

Early-career researchers with relevant publications may also apply to join the reviewer team.

Application and selection

Applicants may select one or both roles:

  • Editorial Board Member;
  • Reviewer.

Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee appointment. Applications are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial team based on academic qualifications, research experience, publication record, subject expertise, and the current needs of the journal.

Participation is voluntary and does not involve any application or membership fee.
