About AcademPress

AcademPress is an independent academic publishing platform that supports peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journals. Its mission is to remove financial and technical barriers to scholarly communication and to ensure the widest possible dissemination, accessibility, and responsible reuse of research results.

The platform provides publishing infrastructure for journals in transport technologies, urban modelling, engineering, information technologies, management, sustainability, and related interdisciplinary fields.

Diamond Open Access

Journals published through AcademPress operate under the Diamond Open Access model. Authors and readers are not charged for access to scholarly content.

There are no:

  • manuscript submission fees;
  • article processing charges;
  • publication fees;
  • editorial processing fees;
  • fast-track or priority publication fees;
  • subscription or access fees for readers.

All articles are made freely available online immediately after publication. Payments, institutional status, nationality, or professional position do not influence editorial decisions.

Editorial independence and peer review

Each journal hosted by AcademPress operates under the responsibility of its own Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board, and reviewers. Journals maintain their own aims and scope, editorial policies, peer-review procedures, and publication schedules.

Editorial decisions are based exclusively on:

  • scientific quality and originality;
  • methodological validity;
  • relevance to the journal’s scope;
  • clarity and completeness of reporting;
  • compliance with publication ethics.

Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee publication. All manuscripts are subject to editorial assessment and independent peer review in accordance with the policy of the respective journal.

Publication ethics and research integrity

AcademPress supports the principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics — COPE and promotes responsible conduct throughout the publication process.

The platform and its journals are committed to transparent policies concerning:

  • authorship and contributorship;
  • conflicts of interest;
  • confidentiality of peer review;
  • plagiarism and inappropriate text reuse;
  • duplicate and redundant publication;
  • research involving humans, animals, or sensitive data;
  • use of artificial intelligence in research and manuscript preparation;
  • corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern;
  • complaints and editorial appeals;
  • allegations of research or publication misconduct.

Similarity-checking tools may be used as part of the editorial evaluation. Similarity percentages are reviewed by editors and are not treated as automatic proof of plagiarism.

Open science

AcademPress supports open science and encourages authors to make research outputs as transparent, verifiable, and reusable as possible.

Where appropriate and legally permissible, authors are encouraged to provide:

  • research data;
  • software code and algorithms;
  • methodological protocols;
  • supplementary materials;
  • information about funding;
  • statements on data availability;
  • declarations of conflicts of interest;
  • persistent identifiers for authors and research outputs.

The availability of supporting materials should respect privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property rights, informed consent, and applicable legal requirements.

Author rights and open licensing

Authors retain copyright in their work unless a journal explicitly states otherwise in its policy.

Articles are normally distributed under an open Creative Commons licence, such as CC BY 4.0, which allows reading, downloading, sharing, adaptation, and reuse, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and source.

Licensing information is displayed on individual article pages and in published files.

Discoverability and dissemination

AcademPress aims to maximise the visibility and international dissemination of published research through:

  • immediate open access to full texts;
  • Crossref DOI registration;
  • structured article metadata;
  • ORCID integration;
  • OAI-PMH metadata exposure;
  • machine-readable metadata;
  • search-engine optimisation;
  • submission of journal metadata to relevant scholarly databases, directories, discovery services, and research infrastructures;
  • support for citation linking and persistent identification.

Indexing applications and inclusion decisions remain under the independent control of the respective databases and services.

Transparency and accountability

AcademPress supports transparency in journal governance and publishing practices. Each journal should publicly provide information about:

  • ownership and management;
  • editorial leadership;
  • Editorial Board membership;
  • peer-review procedures;
  • author guidelines;
  • publication fees or confirmation that no fees apply;
  • open-access and copyright policies;
  • publication ethics;
  • complaints and appeals;
  • corrections and retractions;
  • contact details;
  • indexing and archiving arrangements.

Journal websites must not display misleading metrics, unverified indexing claims, or information that could create a false impression about the journal’s status.

Inclusion and international cooperation

AcademPress welcomes responsible scholarly contributions from researchers, practitioners, institutions, and research projects worldwide.

Editorial assessment is conducted without discrimination based on nationality, citizenship, institutional affiliation, gender, age, disability, political views, religion, or economic circumstances. The platform seeks to support researchers and institutions that may otherwise face financial or technical barriers to academic publishing.

Our commitment

AcademPress is committed to developing a sustainable, transparent, ethical, and accessible publishing environment in which scholarly quality takes priority over commercial considerations.
